LINBIT Offers Official DRBD Basics Training

LINBIT® is offering an official training package for Linux system administrators who are interested in getting started using DRBD® to create high-availability and high-performance block storage in their clusters.

Whether you need highly available storage to back a database, website, virtual machine image hosting, or other storage use cases that you can imagine, this training will give you foundational knowledge and practical experience with the tools that you can use to accomplish your goals.

A Time-Tested and Industry Trusted Solution

DRBD has been tested and deployed for over 20 years and continues to set performance records for its replication speed. Be confident that you are learning deployment skills around enterprise grade and industry trusted software that will serve you well for building high availability and disaster recovery solutions.

DRBD Basics Training Overview

The training package uses video and written content to guide you by using a hands-on approach to supplement conceptual knowledge. You will set up a virtual environment to create a cluster of virtual machines (VMs). The training will then guide you through installing, configuring, and using DRBD and related utilities.

Included in the training is an introduction to LINSTOR®, the LINBIT developed open source software-defined storage (SDS) solution. LINSTOR allows you to bring automation and scalability to your storage resources. It also integrates with many popular cloud and orchestrating platforms such as Kubernetes, Proxmox VE, CloudStack, OpenNebula, and others.

Prerequisites… You Can Do This

Prerequisites for the training are familiarity with Bash and the Linux command line interface (CLI). Familiarity with virtual machines is helpful but not required because the training uses Vagrant to make deploying VMs simple, even for someone who might never have used VMs before.

The training assumes no prior experience with DRBD or LINBIT software.
