LINSTOR Operator 2.10.4 updates the LINSTOR CSI image to 1.10.5 to be compatible with LINSTOR 1.33. We have intentionally not updated the LINSTOR version itself to the latest 1.33.1, as that is left for the next feature release of our Operator. See the full changelog here – https://forums.linbit.com/t/linstor-operator-2-10-4/1135
As you may know, the release of LINSTOR Operator 2.10.0 for Kubernetes allowed users to create ReadWriteMany (RWX) Persistent Volume Claims (PVCs) directly using the LINSTOR CSI driver. This feature enables multiple pods to mount and write to the same LINSTOR-backed persistent volume simultaneously.
As LINBIT Lead Developer for all-things Kubernetes, I presented a demo about the new features of our operator in a video titled ‘Creating ReadWriteMany Persistent Volumes in Kubernetes by using LINSTOR.’ – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t9wE44Ez41Q
Over to the LINBIT blog, ‘Using the LINSTOR Python API to Interface with LINSTOR Clusters in Kubernetes,’ by Solutions Architect Matt Kereczman, covers a notable but easily overlooked feature in LINSTOR. – https://linbit.com/blog/using-the-linstor-python-api-to-interface-with-linstor-clusters-in-kubernetes/
‘Dynamically Creating HA Persistent Volumes in Kubernetes by Using LINSTOR’ by Documentation Specialist Michael Troutman, shows that using LINSTOR will help you abstract and manage persistent block storage resources in Kubernetes to support running stateful applications at scale. – https://linbit.com/blog/dynamically-creating-ha-persistent-volumes-in-kubernetes-by-using-linstor/
Kubernetes homelabbers may be interested in reading the latest post from LINBIT COO Brian Hellman: ‘Exploring Homelabbing & Open Source Innovations.’ Brian mentions running Kubernetes at home as an alternative to the family NAS and LINBIT’s SDS platform integrations – https://linbit.com/blog/exploring-homelabbing-open-source-innovations/
We’ve posted a Knowledge Base post titled ‘LINSTOR Quorum Policies and Virtualization Environments.’ – https://kb.linbit.com/linstor/linstor-quorum-policies-and-vm-environments/
