Open-Source, Open-Hearted: LINBIT’s Shift Towards a More Authentic Newsletter

LINBIT newsletter

When it comes to company newsletters, the traditional approach has been maintaining a formal, marketing-driven tone. However, as the business landscape evolves, I believe that many companies are shifting towards a more personal and community-focused approach to their newsletters.

I feel that this is especially true in the open-source software industry, where transparency, collaboration, and the community are highly valued. Therefore, we at LINBIT® fully embrace this approach. We can build stronger relationships with our readers by shifting towards a more personal tone and focusing on community-driven content. More than that, I want to bring you the content you care about the most.

Listening to our Community

We started this journey with an internal workshop on improving our communication and making it more meaningful. Then, as a second step, we sent out a survey to gather feedback on what topics and themes you would like to see in the newsletter. We’re grateful for the enthusiastic response we received, and we’ve already incorporated your suggestions into our content planning.

Of course, one of the most significant changes is that we went away from a company newsletter. Instead, I am sharing on a bi-weekly basis the news from the industry, community, and from our developer labs that seem shareable or comment-worthy. We have listened to your feedback and tailored our content to your interests. I hope we create an informative and engaging newsletter for our readers.

My decision to switch to a more personal and community-focused approach to our newsletter is a move that reflects the values of the open-source software industry. We are creating more engaging and authentic content. This should build stronger relationships with our readers and foster a sense of community around our company and mission. I appreciate your support, and we look forward to continuing this journey with you.
