Software
DRBD® replicates block storage in the Linux kernel. LINSTOR® provisions and orchestrates it across a cluster. Everything else LINBIT ships extends those two — failover automation, WAN replication, protocol access, Windows support, and the integrations that plug them into your platform.
Synchronous and asynchronous block-level replication inside the Linux kernel — in mainline since 2.6.33. Every LINBIT solution ends here.
Protocol C confirms each write on every replica before the application sees the acknowledgment; DRBD quorum prevents split-brain without fencing hardware.
The control plane: provisions volumes on LVM, ZFS or Windows Storage Spaces, places replicas across the cluster, and drives DRBD — one API for bare metal, Kubernetes, Proxmox VE and the rest.
Storage lands on standard logical volumes readable with ordinary platform tools — nothing hijacks your data.

Every path through LINBIT software ends at DRBD, and almost every one runs through LINSTOR. Solid lines are platform-specific integrations; dotted lines are the generic HA storage-cluster path.

Failover — DRBD Reactor. Promotes a healthy replica and starts its services on DRBD events, with no separate cluster communication layer; replaces Pacemaker in most collocated-service clusters. More →
Distance — DRBD Proxy. Buffers and compresses replication over the WAN so a constrained link never slows the application. Per-node license — the one piece that is not open source. More →
Protocol access — LINSTOR Gateway. Exports LINSTOR volumes as highly available NFS, iSCSI or NVMe-oF targets. Documentation →
Windows — WinDRBD. The native Windows port of DRBD: replicated volumes appear as regular SCSI disks for SQL Server, Hyper-V and file servers. More →
Run & watch — LINBIT GUI, DRBDmon, Deployment Tool. Web management and monitoring, a real-time terminal monitor, and a graphical installer that builds a verified cluster over SSH. GUI → Deployment Tool →
Platform connectors. CSI driver and Operator for Kubernetes, plugins for Proxmox VE, OpenStack, OpenNebula, CloudStack and Docker. Pick your platform →
Appliance: LINBIT VSAN bundles this stack as a turnkey ISO for NVMe-oF, iSCSI and NFS data stores. More →
All of the software above is open source except DRBD Proxy. A subscription adds certified builds, signed kernel modules, repository access and support up to 24×7 — you buy the way to run it in production, not the code.
