You can install DRBD Proxy on the same machine or separate machines. DRBD Proxy uses RAM as a buffer, so depending on your workload and requirements it may make sense to use a separate machine. In circumstances where you have numerous resources going through a single proxy a separate machine is highly recommended. DRBD Proxy runs on Linux.
