LINBIT® SDS is the product name for LINBIT’s LINSTOR® software, and the plug-ins and drivers that work with it to give you the tools to create software-defined storage solutions for your high-availability and disaster recovery problems.
You can use LINSTOR independently to control DRBD® and other block storage devices native to Linux, without a cloud-based front end. A benefit of integrating LINBIT SDS with Kubernetes is that LINSTOR will not only control and manage your configured block devices, it will also create and manage file system resources within Kubernetes, and can offer persistent data storage for your applications and services running in Kubernetes.
